I think that you should only develop English version or english and in background russian. There are lots of russian players, but there are more players that want to play english version. The international language is english and everything. No offence, but this is my opinion.

I saw that on pirates ahoy they trie to translate it to english. But to be a good translating team they need to be organized. From the posts i don't say so... I'm translating it in my PC for my use but because I'm one and I'm doing it for my self I think that this gona be veeeery long work.

English is not an international language in Russia I know in other countries people can understand english very well. And as you know addon team is russians

I received some eng translation, so it can be done
Maybe I create patch for newest rus ver. to eng one to 30-60% of translation

And start support both of them (in files wich I received by translate team)

These texts maybe not correct because it was made by autotranslation.

I caught dialogs files from you which I sent to you early
But it will be post with new update only
And you didn't do all of them

so as I said game will be only 50-60% translated

But these 50% must be check for correct (cause you did it by robot)

Start correction now - will finish more faster

English progress has to progress by English own

I wait volunteers here since last year.

Some of work was made and post like attache in one thread

with the new update I found out that the two english add-ons for the main menu and quest book don't work is there going to be a add-on for this new update or is ther an english form in this one already if so how would you go about changing the text from russian to english.

Is anything known about a possible English translation of the SLiB mod? We at the English PiratesAhoy! forums are very much wanting to play it as well, but unfortunately most of us don't understand Russian at all. Personally I would be quite happy with crappy, but understandable English dialogs in the game and be able to play your mod, instead of not being able to play your mod at all.

Something that Russian players might be interested in (if they don't already know): Build 12 is the most recent "official" version of the English modpack. However, I have been working for over a year on the Post Build 12 modpack now. This modpack contains a lot of new features, including a translation mod that will translate most of the game into Russian for any Russian people who want to play it. The Post Build 12 mods are far from bugfree though, but we'll keep working on improving it. If the translation mod works properly, Build 13 will be playable for both English and Russian players!
And in the meantime: Any Russian players can also participate in the Post Build 12 testing and fixing process, if they want to.

It just a joke. The altered phrase from popular advertising, it can be translated as: learn Russian to understand add-on =)
Generally serious people work in a team of addition SLIB and if one of them will tell, that the English version will be soon, it will be necessarily. I didn't notice in the Russian part of this site about the announcement of the English version yet.

The Russian players don't need to learn English. Most of the Post Build 12 modpack works in Russian as well as in English. Maximus made a translation. You can change the language through the options menu. Most of the game should work just as fine as the English part, but all interfaces, texts and dialogs would be Russian. But because I am the compiler and am no good at Russian, sometimes the Russian translation is a bit behind. But that is no major problem; it will still work. Only a few strings would be missing.

Attention to all! There is a new English version of the FAQ on the English site. It provides answers for majority of questions related to the game. In the part of the quests accopmlishment (passage of quests) there is an updated version of the quests description. British line is added and general text of other quests are updated. In the next update the main addition shall incorporate description of Ascold quest. Hope. it will be of some help!

the fact is, this is the only cool corsair-game which international people can play...

Game is translated on English in the USA. Many money is already spent for translation, but I yet have not received the finished version of translation. We wait this unfortunate translation during four months. Sorry...

I just found this stuff.
Which vercion is it? I dont know but sure not a last one.

And it is only INI and QUESTBOOK
Totaly translate of all dialogs was lost and I have no copy.

If you realy need it PM to delamer at this forum, he was in charge for it to test and combine text and script.
But at begining of 2006 we start KVL (SLiB on Storm-2.5 Engine) and totaly stop translation.

We all waiting a official relise of the game City of Abandoned Ships but it is not happen yet

It's too bad the translation was lost. Many folks here in the west were really looking forward to playing it in English.

Perhaps the english community will be able to work on it eventually.

We too are looking VERY forward to City of Abandoned ships.

One of the questions we have about CoAS is whether or not the programs directory will be completely unlocked so we can modify the game at will. We would really like to be able to move the Build mod over to City of Abandoned Ships.

Aye, I realize the English language version is due this quarter. But I'm interested in having copies of the games, both Sea Legend is Back(as far as I can tell, it will never be released in english) and City of Abandoned Ships in the original Russian, so I can do side by side comparisons of text and gameplay to see if the English language version had anything taken out or changes other than correctly translated text.

I don't trust the US censors/companies to do a complete translation of all quests or abilities in the game. I keep being worried they will remove much just like they did when they released PotC and AoP in english.

I'd like to have it in the original language it was written in to do direct comparisons.

I hope that makes sense.

Ah, yes. Thank you AlexusB. That is the one I was thinking of now that you mention it. The reason I want to purchase them if I can is so you guys get the money you deserve for the work you did on the games.

Either way, thank you for the sugestions!

So I know the proper timeline of release, what are each of the games in the Seadogs/Corsairs family and in what order were they release.

I hope that doesn't come across as a complete newbie question, I just want to be sure of the correct lineage of the series.

Hetman, I think, its high time to create an English version of the webpage. At least we need an English interface for the website to be visitable by Belarusian history interested non-Belarusian and non-Russian speakers. It also would be nice to start gathering literature about Belarusian history in English language.
How possible would the whole be?

I have a problem

Game - City of Abandoned Ships (russian version) patched.
last patch 1.2.4 FT

No problems until - Inkas city - Teno - diving in labyrinth - black screen - can see only oxygen counter.
in 1.2.3 all was normal.

Whats the problem?

I think black screen can be result of wrong installation of patch. Commonly it happens when some files are mising.

Return of the Legend based on the Corsairs AoP and it was not released in Europe. But you can buy add on The City of Abandoned Ships.

SLiB (Sea Legend is Back) is add on for a Pirates of the Caribbean. You can try to find this game and install add on on it.

But if you try to find the first Corsairs (SeaDogs in English version), it can be very difficult.

BTW: I was played SeaDogs on Windows XP. It is possible.
