I am now downloading the new town resources and I wonder is it necessary to start a new game the changes to take effect or not?

I have a problem... yesterday I downloaded the last update of the add-on and new town resources. I started a new game after deleting all old savegames, changing all game parameters, controls, etc. and at the beginning I realised that all textures of the buildings (pirate, started on Nevis) are grey!!!???

Do you have manualy installed all resourses from .rar (23Mb)?
Or just run .exe?

New_towns is old install format. Must be set and unpack manualy

first, I manually unpacked "resources_town_c.rar" in /RESOURCES/TEXTURES folder, then ran "am_setup.exe". after unpacking it in the game root folder....

How big advantage have a MOW-s (ascold quest) before gappling? Or is it a big secret?

Been enjoying the latest update. Level 37 already, I got both uninhabited islands colonized... but even with the Black Shark with augmented crew (nearly 1000 dudes) with heroic morale, not even a level 6 yacht with its crew reduced to, like, 2 dudes will surrender to me. Quite the opposite - they manage to kill half my crew between the two of them. Amazing. Is this a new "feature" of the update, that no one will ever surrender to you?

Also, I've noticed a couple quests I never saw before - Cortez' skeleton in the lost fort on IdM and the shopkeep's request for "mummy powder." The former opens a new quest entry, but is it really a quest? and is there really any mummy powder to be had anywhere in the archipelago? half the sreet merchants refuse to deal with me I've asked them so often...

You need to have ither Hero or FearOfSea reputation

Mummy powder is the start of very hard to pass quest. This quest has no tips. Street merchant can sell you powder, but which one, nobody knows.. random

and I am a geroi. i've had only two ships surrender to me, a couple galleons...

Yes, you can find it in second level treasures (on map combined from 2 parts).

speaking of treasure, are the golden cuirass and killidge sword available in the regular treasure or only the samsa's treasure quest? i was disappointed by what i finally got for my trouble there, just a handful of gold nuggets and jewels but no good items.

Killdge available only in Samsa quest, but golden cuirass can be found in various places: treasures, English quest line etc

After visiting Morgans secretary i got a little idea. How about adding a NPC who change rare items.(no sell)
Right now i have lot of fine maps, Tanats, golden armors and blue skulls, but dont have killadge do hire
filosof. Even S/L magic dont work.

Yep that's my problem... there was no killidge in the chest for the Samsa treasure, or pink skull or golden cuirass.

2 Alan_Smithee It means that you've lost too much time after battle with the Black Shark!!! You have only 10 days to get to treasure, or else it transformates in to gems & rings rendomly.
Anyhow you won't find killidge there , its musketon (rifle), pink skull & golden cuirass.

Today i read about announce - SLB goes to Corsaires 3. (russian forum).
I can read a russian a bit, but not perfectly well, so i need to ask - The new SLB will be a new game (based on storm 2.5 engine, no need for Corsaires 3, AOP) or it will be add-on to the main game (corsaires 3 needed)
And i thankful for great game and accept my best wishes for a new project. Sorry my englich - its sucks.
